GEORGE SAMPSON TAKES TOTAL DANCE TO THE MOVIES
10th May 2010
George Sampson invited his inspiration and Manchester’s Broken Glass Crew to accompany him on the red carpet and premiere of his debut movie StreetDance3D.
Danny Price (Captain of Broken Glass Street Crew) and Creative Director of Total Dance in Bury, has yet again been recognised as a pioneer of street dance when his crew were invited by George Sampson to the new STREET DANCE 3D movie premiere in London’s Leister Square on 10th May 2010.
Danny Price and the Broken Glass Crew started out dancing on the streets of Manchester, just like George Sampson, and soon their original moves and unbeaten track record saw them competing against street dance crews all over Europe.
The invite to the premiere came along with the request to show footage of Danny and The Broken Glass Crew from the urban documentary ‘Northern Warriors’ to support his claim that Broken Glass (Swanny, BonesSlim, Baby-Face-Ray, Danny Price, Dons, Swift, OC Rock) were his inspiration to start street dancing. In particular ‘Swanny’ who has sadly since passed away even taught George some of his moves, making the attendance of Broken Glass that much more important to the crew. Danny said “it’s amazing that work I do now in the community is still being recognised by street dance stars like George Sampson, Flawless and Diversity, sending out a clear message of respect for what the Broken Glass Street Crew did as pioneers of this urban dance genre”.
Georges PR Company organised a ‘Red Carpet, Pull Up’ pass for the Broken Glass chauffeur and the crew escorted George into the ‘Empire Cinema’. Danny Price commented “it was really great to see that George Sampson is set for more success after winning Britain’s Got Talent. I mean he was my favourite thing in the film, and I so am proud that the ‘Broken Glass Street Crew’ is such a big part of his history”
